FAQ

How many hours should I book? One consideration is the number of guests at your event. I paint between 10 and 12 full faces an hour, or 20-24 cheek or eye designs. Compare this with your guest list to ensure you book enough time.

Why should I hire a professional face painter? Two words: safety, and quality. Amateurs often use craft paint, which is never safe for children, even if labeled “non toxic”. In addition to possible allergic reactions and irritation, craft paint can be difficult to remove from skin. My professional face paint is FDA approved, hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial, and designed to look and feel beautiful on skin. At the end of the day, it washes off easily with soap and water. When you hire a professional, you are putting your guests’ safety first.

Quality face painting is about more than brush skills and good materials, it's about speed too! A talented face painter can make magic happen in mere seconds. The thrill of creating something truly exciting in an impossibly small space of time is what I love most about face painting! Professional face painters invest many hours in practice and preparation to make sure your guests spend their time enjoying their Amazing Faces instead of waiting in line.

Do you have any rules about face painting?  To keep my clients safe and happy, I will not paint:

-The faces of children less than 2 years old (ask for hand or arm designs instead!)
-The faces of children showing signs of a communicable illness (arm or shoulder designs are a great alternative!)
-Any child who does not want to be painted.

-I expect children and adults to respect my equipment and workspace and not to touch.
-I reserve the right to refuse face painting to any person who is disruptive or abusive.
-I remind clients that children are their parents’ responsibility at all times.

How long does the paint stay on? Until you wash it off! My professional face paint is smudge-resistant and can last all day, but it is also water-based and easy to remove. To keep face paint fresh and bright longer, avoid eating, sweating, and (obviously) swimming.  Always remove paint from children's faces before bed.  Soap and water will do the trick; a baby wipe or makeup-removal wipe works well too.

I want a mermaid holding a unicorn surrounded by rainbow bubbles. Can you paint that? Yes, I can!  I love special requests, and will always do my best to paint just what you want. Of course, the more advanced notice I have the better, and I may suggest simplifications if others are waiting, but in general the more unique the better!
